Announcement Goodbye

[Alpha]

Hello everyone.

It is with a very heavy heart that I've decided to step down as Translations Leader & all my other staff positions (Spotlights, Discord, and PS! mod and italiano RO). I'm (thankfully) very busy in real life and my job doesn't really let me enjoy as I used to Smogon and PS! as a whole; shifts are exhausting and I don't have the time to take care of as I wish about the projects here. I tried taking short LOAs every month, but they didn't work. I'm simply too tired. It's time for me to pass the torch to a new, fresh leader. Repu will take my place as the new Translations Leader along Iyarito. I'm 100% confident he will do an amazing work. He has been Portuguese leader for years now and I'm sure he will rock it! Italian section will need a new leader, and I'm happy to announce Milak will replace me as the new Italian leader along iamredmount. Milak is a veteran to the project and has all it takes to be a prolific leader for the section.

For the time I can remember, translations have been my daily hobby. Smogon to me always meant translations. When I first got promoted to roomvoice in italiano, Haund forced me to make a Smogon account and to join the translation team. He saw a lot of potential in me, and I'll forever be greatuful to him for seeing a fire in me. That meant a lot to me, thanks boss. Translations community is honestly amazing, you guys are truly wonderful people and deserve the best.
iamredmount, you've been my right-hand man for the longest time I can remember, leading the project with me and helping me when everything seemed fucked up and work was overwhelming. Thanks for everything.
To all the languages leaders, thank you for making such a wonderful community. Please, continue to have this passion for the project.

To the whole translations teams, guys you're amazing. Never let anyone exstinguish the fire you have.
Iyarito, thanks for believing in me and giving me a chance as your co-leader. I'm sorry if at times I wasn't good enough.
Blitz, you've quickly become my best friend. I won't add anything else, you know the rest.
Kalalokki, we've had our moments, but thanks for giving us the opportunity to expand the project to social medias. It meant a lot to me and I'm sure it's the same for all the other translators.
To Discord, Social Media, and B101 staff, my time with you was kinda short, but I'm glad I've met you; you're great. It has been a pleasure to work with you all!

Milak and Aethernum, thanks for leading the room with such passion, keep it up.
To all my staff & auths, current and past, thank you for making the room such a wonderful place, it has been a lot of fun. We grew up together, and I'm happy I've been your RO for such a long time. I've found true friends in you, thanks for everything.

To all PS! global staff, thanks for having me. I wasn't easy to work with. Keep making the boat floating guys, you're incredible and I know your work at time is not appreciated enough, but keep it up. Community needs you.

It's surreal writing this post, not gonna lie. I've deleted and rewrote it multiple times, but all I can say is just how grateful I am to have met y'all and been a part of this community. Smogon and PS have been with me for 5 years; I've had my ups and downs, but I grew a lot and I'll forever be grateful for all the lessons I've learned here. I've met a lot of great people here, and if you've been important to me, you know it. I'm sorry if I let anybody down.

Alpha my bro, still feels like yesterday when you first came to tours and i got to know you. Had a blast staffing with you then, your work ethic was something to see. I remember you always on 'busy' coding which just goes to show your commitment to whatever it was that you did. GL for you future endeavors and hope you'd still be around on disc so that we can catch up from time to time.

I'm really bad with saying goodbye because it sounds like I'm never gonna see that person again. I hope we can still see you around from time to time, even if it's just to say hello; I'll always welcome you back with open arms. Thank you very much for trusting on me, it means a lot and I'll give my best for the Translation Project. I would also like to congratulate Milak for his new promotion, and I'm sure translation staff is more than happy to have you around. Whenever you need help, don't hesitate to ask us; we're here for you! Thanks everyone who already made contact with me as well, I hope I can be worthy of thy trust. Obrigado!

It is noticeable that you have put effort in what you do and that is admirable, I understand you perfectly and that decision is viable, from here a person who did not share time with you but who has followed your work says good job and goodbye (but it is not a goodbye but a see you later ). This is gonna feel as awkward as awkward can get.
I saw you join PS!, i saw you grow as both an auth and a person, only for you to see me quit not that long after.
You saw me get back to PS! and welcomed me with open arms, only for me to see you quit now.
I gotta say that having been around for this long it feels really weird to somewhat "outlast" you, and i think it's really hard to convey this "weirdness" properly with words.

There are very few people who have put in the amount of work you have into this site, both at the forefront and behind the scenes. Even before getting to know you, I had heard from multiple people just how passionate you are and how you did this for the community. I remember asking “Hey, who does this?”, and I couldn’t, and still, can’t believe that people always pointed to you and said “oh, Alpha handles that.” Working with you has also had its moments, but I can say that it was absolutely worth it - thank you for giving me the chance to join the social media team and the spotlight team. You taught me a fuck ton and I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you teaching me the ropes.

The amount of appreciation you deserve cannot be understated, and I know I speak for the translations team at large here: thank you for everything you’ve done! We will sorely miss you.

Repu and Milak, you guys have big shoes to fill, but I know for a fact that Alpha picks his people knowing full well they’re more than capable, and both of you have been stellar contributors to the project for a long time now. This is well deserved, and I look forward to working with you both to keep making this project as amazing as it can be. Y’all got this
